SchuF and Fetterolf manufacture special valves for taking samples and for draining tanks and reactors in the petrochemical, polymer, pharmaceutical and pulp/paper industries.
Sampling valves have extended plungers so a representative sample can be obtained each time. Higher temperature seats and seals are available for applications that require them.
Reactor drain valves fill up the void so that there is no cross batch contamination. Poppet valve can break through a crust and are generally lower cost than plunger valves. Divertor and changeover valves are available for changing filters, tanks, or relief valves.
Special valves have been developed for glass lined reactors. This is because the glass lined valves typically used in this industry dont seal well on glass. Glass linings are not round and so leaks appear. The fluids in these tanks are usually toxic, corrosive, hot, under pressure and generally not the type of fluids where you can tolerate leaks. Also, glass lined valves require expensive reglassing and testing for damage. SchuF has a teflon lined valve that overcomes all of the glass lined valve issues.
Camset line blinds makes it safe, fast and easy to block and bleed a line or tank during an outage. The axial movement is within the line blind and no axial movement is tranferred to the piping. No special spreader bars are needed as the blind has a built in cam to open the space for the plate to be turned. These blinds are especially useful in R&D and Pilot Plants where batch reactors need frequent isolation.
