Safety Excess Flow Valve

Excess Flow Valves are adjustable.  Sizes range from capillary size for laboratory analyzers to process piping sizes for bulk tank loading.  Smaller size excess flow safety valves are sometimes called velocity fuses.  They can be ordered with a manual reset option.  Materials include: bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, forged steel, and 316 stainless steel. 

Applications include:

• compressed air lines which can cause hose whip
• hazardous gases which may displace breathing air,
• non-hazardous gases like nitrogen and CO2 which may displace breathing air
• pollution control,
• leak detection,
• gas analyzers which may have hydrogen as a carrier gas,

A locking cap can help prevent tampering with excess flow valve setpoint adjustment.  Switches are designed to be field maintainable and settable, unlike competitive products that must be factory set.  Velocity fuses and excess flow valves can be adjusted in the field to meet individual customer requirements. Meets OSHA requirement for safety shutoff valves.
